Frigg Magazine

There are presently no open calls for submissions.

Frigg is not accepting new submissions at this time. The spring/summer 2024 issue will not be published (for a variety of reasons). We will, though, return with a fall/winter issue! Submissions for that issue will open in mid-May (or soon thereafter).

Frigg: A Magazine of Fiction and Poetry is published online twice a year, in the spring/summer and fall/winter.

Literary fiction. We publish single, longer-length short stories from 1,200 to 4,000 words. Flash-length short stories of up to 1,000 words are published in groups of at least three.

Poetry and prose poetry. Any length. Shorter works of poetry are published in groups of at least three. Longer poems are published as single works.

Creative nonfiction. We publish single, longer pieces of creative nonfiction from 1,200 to 4,000 words. We also publish shorter, flash-length works of creative nonfiction (1,000 words or fewer) in groups of at least three.

We accept simultaneous submissions. Please let us know if all or part of the submission has been accepted elsewhere. If the original submission contains three or more shorter works (fiction, poetry, or creative nonfiction), and one or more works from the submission are accepted elsewhere, please withdraw the submission if it then contains fewer than three works.

We do not accept work that appears (or is forthcoming) in another online venue. However, we do accept work that appears only in print, or has appeared in an online venue that is defunct and no longer maintains an online presence (including archived material).

If your submission is declined and we do not ask to see more work from you, please wait at least a month before submitting more material.

We take approximately two weeks to three months to respond to submissions. Feel free to contact us at any time to ask about the status of your submission
